Service Description

Each class will begin with a demonstration followed by time to work on the subject of your choosing and receive one-on-one guidance from Sherry. This class is good for beginners to intermediate levels as well as those who have taken it before and would like the space and personal instruction to continue working. Supply list: Winsor Newton Cadmium Yellow Winsor Newton Cadmium Lemon Yellow Winsor Newton Scarlet Lake or (Cadmium Red) Permanent Alizarin Crimson Cerulean Blue, Antwerp Blue or (Ultra Marine Blue) Optional: Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber Watercolor brushes: such as #6 Round, Princeton Art & Brush Co., Winsor & Newton Series 995 3/4 ” square, 1/2″ square, and 1″ square. Spiral watercolor pads or blocks, Arches 140 lb. paper cut in 1/2 sheet and two 1/4 sheets or Arches 300 lb. paper cut in 1/2 sheet and two 1/4 sheets, sketchbook, colored pencil, and a Pilot Gel pen. Pictures of what you want to paint. Sherry Meidell started her career as a graphic designer, continuing as an illustrator for children’s books and magazines, and painting watercolors that have been shown and won awards in regional and national exhibits. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Utah Watercolor Society, and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. She has received numerous awards, including best of show at the UWS Spring Exhibition 2015 and top award at the 2014 Arts in the Parks plein-air competition at Capitol Reef National Park, Society of Illustrators Los Angeles Illustration West 41 and 42 Competition Certificate of Merit  She has taught watercolor classes, and presented multiple workshops on children’s book writing and illustrating, using a sketch book to improve skill and confidence, and watercolor painting and technique. Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are to be paid before the beginning of each class. A spot in a class is not guaranteed until full tuition and fees are paid. All classes have a minimum and maximum enrollment and Bountiful Davis Art Center reserves the right to cancel classes that do not meet the minimum number of students required. Every effort is made to notify those registered of cancellations. Fees for classes canceled by the Art Center will be fully refunded. Classes can be prorated if the student notifies the art center at the time of registration or no later than 3 days before the first class begins. Cancellation/Refund Terms for classes: Classes cancelled by the art center: 100% refund Student cancels within 3 days of first class: $10 fee (Please e-mail kaye@bdac.org for refund, less $10 fee) Student cancels after beginning of first class: No refund
