On Saturday, September 7th, we took to the street as SB Dance’s Curbside Theater brought their one-of-a-kind performance, Tarotville™, to Bountiful Davis Art Center. With the road closed and the evening sky as the backdrop, this free event welcomed art lovers, curious onlookers, and families, creating a gathering that exemplified BDAC’s commitment to activating a thriving community.
Tarotville™: A Journey Shaped by the Audience
Unlike traditional performances with a set script or choreography, Tarotville™ was guided by chance and audience interaction. Tarot cards picked by attendees shaped the entire storyline for the five dancers. Live music by Raffi and Ischa amplified the mystical atmosphere. Fortune-telling intertwined with each dance in a way that kept the audience engaged and excited for what would happen next.
SB Dance is Pushing Boundaries in Dance and Theater
SB Dance is no ordinary dance company. Known for pushing artistic boundaries and blending genres, this talented group of professional artists—mainly dancers—has a long history of creating innovative works. From pure dance to theater, musicals, and even operettas, SB Dance thrives on inventing new, engaging ways to tell stories. Curbside Theater, their traveling dance-theater experience, is their latest boundary-pushing project. Approachable and entertaining, this performance delighted an audience of all ages.
