September 17, 2012, Bountiful - Bountiful/Davis Art Center will host a new exhibit, Foundations: The Artists of the Bountiful/Davis Art Center (1997-2012) ...celebrating and saying goodbye to the building on Main Street and honoring former BDAC director Arley Curtz for his creativity and dedication to art and individual artists.
BDAC will soon be vacating the building on Main Street where it has been housed for the past fifteen years. We want to make the most of this unique opportunity to remember and honor the wonderful artists who have exhibited their work, taught art classes and supported our programs in so many ways. It is also a great time to honor past director Arley Curtz for his contributions.
The building will be torn down in January and a new Bountiful City Hall will be built in its place. BDAC will temporarily move to the Davis County Memorial Courthouse in Farmington while it's permanent home, the current Bountiful City Hall, 790 South 100 East, is being renovated.
For the past fifteen years, hundreds of artists have exhibited and many have taught at Bountiful/Davis Art Center. Though it would be impossible to exhibit all of these artists, the following have agreed to put one piece of art in the exhibit:

Arley G. Curtz was the director of Bountiful/Davis Art Center from 1993-2006. He worked hard to bring the art center to the Main Street location and he contributed greatly to the fine reputation BDAC enjoys today. His expertise and passion, gleaned from many years of working in the arts were the perfect formula to bring about a good foundation for BDAC to grow on while in this location. This foundation has allowed BDAC to flourish, even in uncertain times, demonstrating to all that this art center is here to stay and will continue to be a vibrant, exciting center for the arts for years to come. His legacy will be celebrated through his art and photography and some selections from the art collection of he and his wife Diane.
Please join us for an opening reception on September 28 from 7-9pm at Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 745 So. Main Street in Bountiful. Mingle with the featured artists and Arley and enjoy an evening of art, hors d'oeuvres and friendship as we say goodbye to this building that will be filled to the brim with great art.
