James (Jimmy) Coleman
We are saddened to learn that James (Jimmy) Coleman has passed away. He was the husband of Marilyn Coleman who has been involved with BDAC since its inception and served as its second director. She and James have always been champions of BDAC, lending encouragement, ideas, hard work and financial support. Whenever they visited BDAC, they would bring a lasting and positive energy. It was always fun to receive their visits and know of their support. James worked for Davis School District as a teacher, counselor and administrator receiving awards and accolades throughout his career. He was a great example of the positive impact one person can have in others lives. I personally was the recipient of his enthusiastic encouragement on many occasions. We extend our deepest sympathy to Marilyn and her family. We appreciate their legacy of support.
The following was taken from his obituary: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bountiful Davis Art Center or the American Civil Liberties Union.
