Exploring watercolor can be very satisfying and exciting! Each day we will start with a sketch and a principal of art that will enhance our watercolor paintings. A short demonstration will guide us each day. All levels of ability are welcome to join in on the fun! Don’t be afraid of the level you are at, just come participate and learn. Materials not included, a supply list will be emailed to registered students. Adult class. (This class is limited to 21 students).
Sherry Meidell is the Illustrator Coordinator for the Utah/So.Idaho Region of The Society of Children’s Book Writer’s & Illustrators, a signature member of the Utah Watercolor Society and a signature member of the National Watercolor Society. She attended Utah Technical College in commercial art and after graduation worked in advertising but soon attended children’s book conferences and began working as an illustrator.
Winsor Newton Cadmium Yellow

Winsor Newton Scarlet Lake or (Cadmium Red)
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
Cerulean Blue, Antwerp Blue or (Ultra Marine Blue)
Optional: Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber
Watercolor brushes: such as #6 Round, Princeton Art & Brush Co., Winsor & Newton Series 995 3/4 ” square, 1/2″ square and 1″ square.
Spiral watercolor pads or blocks, Arches 140 lb. paper cut in 1/2 sheet and two 1/4 sheets or Arches 300 lb. paper cut in 1/2 sheet and two 1/4 sheets, sketch book, colored pencil and a Pilot Gel pen. Pictures of what you want to paint.
