Classes are Thursdays
Beginning to Intermediate students are welcome. Beginning students will learn how to prepare a canvas, mix color, use brushes, and how to apply paint. All students will receive group and individual help to develop and improve skills. Please bring several pictures you are interested in painting to the first class.
OIL PAINTING SUPPLIES
These supplies are not set in stone. If you have supplies already, bring what you have.
Cadmium Yellow Light
You can add more brushes as you see fit
Odorless turpentine or mineral spirits
Painting medium such as Liquin
Container with a lid to hold turpentine and in to clean brushes
Paper towel or rags
A couple of canvas or canvas boards no larger than 11” x 14”
Please bring 3-4 pictures of simple subjects that you are interested in painting.
Supplies can be purchased at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Peterson Art Center (employees are good here at helping to find good student grade supplies that cost less), and online at Dick Blick and Cheap Joes.
